The SWAB Pioneer Series fiberglass utility body is a very versatile unit, capable of meeting the demands of an organization for any application.  Listed below are the most commonly requested options, however, should your organization have other needs, please contact your representative or SWAB Wagon Company, Inc.  We will gladly listen to your ideas and develop the solutions for your situations. Warning lights and/or equipment not limited to the items specified below, other warning light/equipment manufacturers available.

[A] One (1) stainless steel push bar/grill protector without headlight guards installed per manufacturer's installation instructions. Subject to availability for FORD cab/chassis.

96203. OPTIONAL ALTERNATOR UPGRADE
[A] Upgrade of factory installed alternator with LEECE-NEVILLE 200 amp alternator with external regulator. Installed per manufacture's instructions with all necessary brackets and wiring.

[B] (FORD CHASSIS - SELECT FORD DUAL ALTERNATOR OPTION - DIESEL ONLY).

96204. OPTIONAL AUXILIARY BATTERY
[A] Auxiliary battery tray installed using chassis manufacturer’s aftermarket equipment when available for specified chassis.

[B] One (1) Interstate brand battery installed in parallel with existing chassis battery. Cold cranking amps of battery to be equal or greater than original chassis battery.

96205. OPTIONAL FAST IDLE THROTTLE CONTROL
[A] Fast idle throttle control installed per manufacture's instructions. Wired to enabling switch in cab console/panel, fast idle to automatically disengage when transmission is placed into gear.

96301. OPTIONAL DOOR RETAINERS
[A] All body side doors equipped with Cleveland double-spring cadmium-plated retainers to hold doors at 90-degrees to body side when open.

[B] Rear compartment door to have nylon strap door retainer installed with two (2) footman’s loops.

96302. OPTIONAL ADJUSTABLE COMPARTMENT SHELVING
[A] One (1) adjustable shelf installed in customer specified location. Adjustable shelf to have 1" double break lip on front and back edge, left and right edge to be 1" single break lip. Shelves are to be installed on Kindorf "C" type aluminum side wall "shelf track" and have 1 1/4" x 3/16" full depth side brackets with end gussets. Kindorf rail clips and fasteners provided for each bracket.  See photo below.

96302-1. OPTIONAL ADJUSTABLE COMPARTMENT SHELF (INSTALLATION ON EXISTING SHELF TRACK)
One (1) adjustable shelf installed in customer specified location. Adjustable shelf to have 1" double break lip on front and back edge, left and right edge to be 1" single break lip. Shelves are to be installed on existing compartment Kindorf "C" type aluminum side wall "shelf track" and have 1 1/4" x 3/16" full depth side brackets with end gussets. Kindorf rail clips and fasteners provided for each bracket.

96303. OPTIONAL SLIDE-OUT TRAY
[A] One (1) slide-out tray installed in customer specified compartment. Tray and slides installed on adjustable shelf track. Tray to have 1" double break lip on front and back edge, left and right edge to be 1" single break lip. Two (2) heavy-duty ball-bearing slides installed, one (1) with hold-open mechanism.  See photo below.

96304. OPTIONAL DRI-DEK FOR ADJUSTABLE SHELVING/SLIDE OUT TRAY
[A] Heavy poly vinyl tiles installed on adjustable shelf/slide-out tray to provide dry/skid free decking. Dri-Dek is standard on body side compartment floors.

96305. OPTIONAL PHARMACEUTICAL LOCK BOX
[A] One (1) pharmaceutical lock box fabricated from .125 aluminum with stainless steel piano hinge and locking 6" D-handle latch. Lock box securely bolted to shelf track with a minimum of four (4) bolts. Lock box designed to be mounted in any compartment with existing shelf track.

[B] Lock box size is approximately 12" high X 12" wide by 22" deep.

96306. OPTIONAL BACKBOARD DIVIDER/RETAINER
[A] Backboard divider installed in backboard compartment capable of securely retaining customer supplied backboards/stokes basket. Fabricated from .063 aluminum and 1/2" CDX plywood. Velcro strap installed to secure board (s) and/or stokes basket within compartment.  See photos below.

 
 


 

96307. OPTIONAL OXYGEN BOTTLE STORAGE RACK
[A] One (1) bottle storage rack capable of storing two (2) "E" or two (2) "D" oxygen bottles (or 1 of each). Fabricated of .100 aluminum and installed in customer specified compartment. Bottle rack designed to be mounted in any compartment with existing shelf track.  See photo below.

 

 

 

 

 

 

96308. OPTIONAL COMMAND DESK
[A] One (1) slide out command desk fabricated from aluminum with clear plexiglass hinged overlay. Desk top to be angled toward front with storage area below. Desk mounted on slides and vertical adjustment track. Desk retainer installed to secure desk in closed position.

[B] Desk dimensions are approximately 23" wide, 2" height in front - 4" height in rear and a depth of 24".  See photos below.
 
 

96309. OPTIONAL FIRE EXTINGUISHER BRACKET
[A] One (1) fire extinguisher bracket fabricated and installed on existing adjustable shelf track. Bracket secured to track with four (4) track nuts and bolts.  See photo below.

[A] Cast Products Model C1185-3 polished aluminum fenderette installed, with concealed hardware, on body at rear wheel body cut-outs.

96311. OPTIONAL AUXILIARY FUEL FILL
[A] Auxiliary fuel fill installed on fiberglass body between compartment L-1 & L-2. Cast Products dual gas fill guard installed to accommodate primary and auxiliary fuel tank. Required fuel filler hose and fuel cap installed.

96312. OPTIONAL STOKES BASKET STORAGE RACK, ROOF MOUNT
[A] One (1) roof mounted storage rack for customer supplied stokes basket.  Aluminum rails installed on roof to guide stokes basket into protective hood.  U-shaped brackets with quick-release pins installed at rear of body to secure basket to roof.  Front protective hood detachable from roof for access to service panel.  Storage rack painted to match body and/or roof color.  See photo below.


 
 

 

 

 

 

 

12VDC ELECTRICAL

96401. OPTIONAL EMERGENCY SERVICE PACKAGE
[A] PACKAGE IS REQUIRED IF ADDING ANY ADDITIONAL ELECTRICAL EQUIPMENT TO UNIT.

[B] Cab Center Console - One (1) formica-covered, floor-mounted/between-seat switch console installed with forward hinged switch panel and rearward open map/book area. Console to be constructed of 1/2" industrial-grade plywood with lid constructed of .080" smooth aluminum. Lid hinged at rear access into console. Console side formica color to match cab interior as closely as possible with black formica lid. Console to include lighted type rocker switches with back-lite labels for all specified 12 VDC loads.

[C] Ventilated Electrical Enclosure -- One (1) ventilated enclosure to house all 12-volt relays, circuit breakers, and power supplies constructed and installed in compartment R-1 (unless otherwise specified). Each component identified by number/color and function and listed within control panel. Main service cable shall be 1/- stranded insulated cable, rated to 210 amps continuous service and protected by a 200 amp automatic reset circuit breaker. Enclosure to provide for ease of transfer of body/equipment to new chassis.

[D] Battery Switch -- One (1) Transportation Safety Devices CDR-350 automatic battery switch mounted in enclosure and connected to chassis batteries and 12 VDC system. Automatic switch interfaced with chassis ignition system. Switch to engage/disengage conversion utilities only. Chassis electrical system to remain unaltered. Automatic switch to disengage conversions utilities through internal timer after ignition has been turned off.

*Note - center console requires front bucket-type seats in cab with space between seats for console. 

 
96402. OPTIONAL COMPARTMENT LIGHTING
[A] One (1) stainless steel framed compartment light recessed in each body side compartment ceiling, controlled by door activation switch. Switch properly adjusted to turn light off when door is closed and latched.

96403. OPTIONAL COMPARTMENT 12-VOLT OUTLET
[A] One (1) 12-VOLT outlet installed in compartment per customer specified location.

96404. OPTIONAL 12-VOLT CHASSIS SUPPORTED HEATING/COOLING
[A] One (1) Danhard, Inc air conditioning (16,000BTU) and heating(24,000BTU) unit installed in top forward section of body. Body to have removable panel mounted on roof for easy access/repairs. Air channeled to each body side compartment through individual flex hose. Duct louver installed in compartment for supply air, return louver installed in lower rear side of compartment to recycle heated/cooled air. Unit connected to chassis heating and cooling system with required hoses, connections, relays and cab mounted controls. Hoses routed to body from engine to be shielded with loom. Regulating valve installed in cab heater supply hose to regulate flow to cab and body.

96405. OPTIONAL SCENE LIGHTS
[A] Six (6) Whelen 700 Series (70K000ZR) Opti-Scene halogen lights installed in upper body corner rail and wired to switch on cab console/panel. Two (2) each installed on left side, right side and rear of unit.

[B] Rear scenes to be interfaced with chassis back-up lights.

96406. OPTIONAL COMPARTMENT DOOR "OPEN" INDICATOR
[A] Indicator light installed in cab switch panel to indicate one of the compartment doors is unlatched. All body compartment doors to be wired to indicator light. Pilot light installed in cab center console switch panel to flash when one or more doors are not properly latched.

96407. OPTIONAL AUXILIARY DRIVING LIGHTS
[A] One (1) pair of Hella driving lights installed on vehicle front per customer specified location. Wired to switch on cab console/panel.

96408. OPTIONAL BACK-UP ALARM
[A] One (1) Ecco 510 back-up alarm installed on rear of chassis and wired to chassis circuitry.

 
96409. OPTIONAL LED BRAKE/TAIL/TURN UPGRADE
[A] Whelen Model 700 LED brake/tail, turn indicator with Whelen Model 700 halogen back-up installed in Whelen cast aluminum mount, and center mount stoplight with chrome bezel (Whelen Model 700) installed on rear compartment door.

96501. OPTIONAL SHORELINE CONNECTION
[A] One (1) 20 amp motor-base shoreline receptacle installed with Kussmaul weatherproof cover at panel between compartment L-1 and L-2.  Wired to one (1) 20 amp duplex receptacle for optional 110-volt electrical items specified by customer.

[B] Twist lock or push/pull style plug available.

96502. OPTIONAL 110-VOLT HEAT/COOL UNIT
[A] Duo-Therm roof top air conditioner (11,000 BTU) with heat strip (5,600 BTU) installed and secured to body roof. Air distribution box fabricated from .125 aluminum with six (6) duct connectors. Flex hose (duct) for supply air routed to each compartment and connected to directional louver in compartment ceiling. Return louver installed in lower rear side of compartment to recycle heated/cooled air. Thermostat installed in customer specified side compartment and wired to Duo-Therm unit. Dedicated 20-amp shoreline for heat/cool unit installed in panel between compartments L-1 and L-2 and wired directly to Duo-Therm unit.  See photo below.

[A] 110-volt heater installed in roof cavity and ducted to two (2) body side compartments and controlled by bi-metal thermostat unit mounted in one of the two 110-volt heated compartments. Return vents installed in lower rear side of compartment (s).

[B] Heat may be ducted to maximum of four (4) compartments.

96608. OPTIONAL AIR HORNS
[A] Two (2) Grover 1510 Stuttertone air horns installed on cab roof per manufacturer's installation instructions, connected to one (1) Gast compressor, Model 3HBB-19-M322, and one (1) 6" x 25" Buell storage tank mounted on chassis. Wired to switch on cab console/panel mounted in cab. This configuration will sustain a minimum 30 second blast.

96609. OPTIONAL LOAD MANAGER/SEQUENCER
[A] One (1) Kussmaul Model 091-32 load manager installed and wired to customer specified warning devices, 5 maximum. Load manager has low voltage monitoring capabilities to prevent electrical overloads. Load manager will automatically sequence lights on and off. Load manager includes console/panel mounted indicator to signal which mode unit is in and, also, a remote manual override switch.

96610. OPTIONAL LED WARNING LIGHT PACKAGE

[A] LED light package consisting of the following:
